The Baltimore Ravens’ receiving core isn’t abysmal, but it could use a significant boost heading into the 2026-27 season.

CBS Sports’ Jordan Dajani believes that adding a former New England Patriots star wideout could help Baltimore take a step in the right direction on that front.

“The New England Patriots released (Stefon) Diggs prior to free agency after he led the team with 1,013 yards receiving and four touchdowns on 85 catches on the way to a Super Bowl appearance,” Dajani wrote Saturday.

“New England’s next leading wide receiver was Kayshon Boutte with 551 yards. It was an impressive season from Diggs, as he was coming off a torn ACL at 32 years old.”

“Diggs is a four-time Pro Bowl pass catcher, and led the NFL in both receptions and receiving yards in 2020. The ring-chasing Ravens make sense for Diggs.”

“He was born in Gaithersburg and went to high school at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Olney before starring at the University of Maryland. It would be fitting if he helped Baltimore’s NFL team get to the Super Bowl.”

While Diggs does come with a bit of baggage due to his constant off-the-field antics, he’s a highly productive receiver at age 32. From focusing on the underrated route running details to regularly finding the soft spots in zone coverages, the Maryland product makes his presence felt by any means necessary.

Pairing Lamar Jackson with a veteran receiver like Diggs, who’s proven he can be a go-to option if necessary, would do wonders for the 29-year-old quarterback in Year 9.

To put it simply, Diggs is a contributor who should receive attention from Baltimore.
