The Boston Bruins remain firmly in the playoff mix and will now go on the road for three games.

Boston is holding onto the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference, and the Bruins are set to play three conference rivals on their road trip. So, after losing to the San Jose Sharks on Thursday, star forward David Pastrnak knows the importance of the road trip.

“We have good sequences on the road,” Pastrnak said after practice on Friday. “The Pittsburgh game, for example, we were playing well, and then we just make mistakes and let the teams get back to the game. It’s not like we’re not playing good hockey, it’s just more mistakes.

“I think dial in, focus more on the details for a full 60, 65 minutes, whatever it takes. We have a big road trip coming up, and we have to get on a winning track on the road.”

With the Bruins set for three crucial road games, head coach Marco Sturm mixed up the lines, as he put Fraser Minten on the top line with Pastrnak and Marat Khusnutdinov. Yet, Sturm said he isn’t sure how the lines will look on Saturday.

“We talked about it, I thought about it,” Sturm said about the potential lineup changes. “I’m not there yet. Might be different tomorrow. I just have to think about it. I didn’t want to rush anything.

“It was a big game we lost, unfortunately, but we are still in a good spot, and we’re a playoff team right now. I am not going to decide on anything just based on the result last night.”

The Bruins will play the Washington Capitals at 3 p.m. ET before taking on the New Jersey Devils on Monday and the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday to conclude their three-game road trip.
