BERKELEY, Calif. – Boston College women’s lacrosse bounced back with a 15-8 win over California on Saturday afternoon in California Memorial Stadium.

The Eagles improve to 3-4 and 3-2 in the ACC, while the Golden Bears drop to 3-5 and 1-3 in the ACC.

Avery Hudson had a career day, posting a game and personal-best six points with four assists – also a career best with a pair of scores.  The sophomore midfielder added a pair of ground balls in the victory.

Giulia Colarusso turned in five points (4 goals, 1 assist) with five draw controls, and Hanna Davis tallied four points with a pair of goals and two helpers.

Shea Baker led the defense with a pair of caused turnovers and turned in a pair of ground balls. Abbey Herod posted seven draw controls, leading the draw team to a 16-9 advantage in the circle. Shea Dolce stopped 10 shots with a .556 save percentage.

It was a back-and-forth affair for most of the first half, where neither team held a lead by more than one until a Lily Kondas goal late in the second period gave her team a 6-4 lead at the break.

Colarusso started the scoring in the third period to give the Eagles a 7-4 edge. The Golden Bears got to within two on their next score, but a 4-0 run that went into the final quarter gave BC a commanding six-goal cushion.

The Eagles went up by as much as eight late in the game after Brooke McLoy sparked a 3-0 spurt, helping BC improve to 3-0 against Cal.

BC returns to action on Thursday against Harvard at 5 p.m. in Alumni Stadium.

    Notes

    • Dolce is five saves away from surpassing Katie Monaghan for second place all-time in school history in career saves. Dolce is at 563 saves for her career.
    • Herod is two draw controls away from moving into 6th all-time in school history career DCs, surpassing Brittany Wilton. Herod has 211 draw controls for her career.
