CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Boston College baseball opens up ACC play this weekend when they travel to No. 24 Miami. The Eagles and Hurricanes will play three games on March 6th at 7:00 p.m., March 7th at 6:00 p.m., and the series finale will be on March 8th at 1:00 p.m. All three games will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.

    Record vs the Hurricane

Miami holds a 30-11 series advantage over Boston College and has won the last five straight. The Eagles’ last win in the series came in March 2022 when they defeated the Hurricanes, 12-11. Boston College was led by a perfect day at the plate by Cameron Leary, who went 4-4 with two home runs and five RBIs. John West earned the win as he came on in relief to throw 1.2 innings.

    Scouting the Weekend

Miami enters conference play at 10-2 and is ranked 24th in the polls. The Hurricanes won their midweek matchup, 5-2 over Bethune-Cookman. However, they lost both games over the weekend to ninth-ranked Florida. Miami is led offensively by Derek Williams, who is hitting .535 with five home runs and 21 RBIs.

On Friday night, A.J. Colarusso will take on the Hurricanes, A.J. Ciscar. Colarusso is 1-0 this year in three starts and is tied for the team lead in strikeouts with 16. Colarusso’s last start came against FGCU, where he went 4.2 innings and struck out four. Ciscar is 2-1 in three starts this season with 22 strikeouts and an ERA of 3.00. In his last start against Florida, he went seven innings and struck out six while allowing three earned runs as he picked up his first loss of the season.

Saturday night will feature Tyler Mudd against Rob Evans. Mudd is 1-1 this season in three starts and four appearances with a 2.77 ERA and 10 strikeouts. His last appearance came on Tuesday night as he pitched the ninth inning in the Eagles’ shutout win over FIU. Evans is 2-1 this season in three appearances and two starts with a 6.75 ERA and 23 strikeouts. His last appearance came against Florida, where he went six innings with 12 strikeouts, but picked up the loss.

Sunday’s finale will feature Brady Miller with Miami’s starter to be named. Miller went two scoreless innings with three strikeouts in his season debut on Sunday against FGCU.

    Last Time Out

Boston College traveled to FIU during the week and swept the Panthers, 4-0 and 9-4. Offensively, the Eagles were balanced, with contributions across the board. Standouts included Gunnar Johnson, who hit his second homer of the season, and Luke Gallo, who collected his first hit and RBIs of his career during the series. On the mound, Drew Grumbles and Jacob Burnham dominated as starters, as the duo combined to pitch nine innings with 11 strikeouts and only one run allowed. The Boston College pitching staff posted 25 strikeouts over the two games, including matching their season high of 15 on Wednesday night.
