CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College lacrosse earned a convincing 19-7 win over Florida State on Tuesday afternoon at the Seminole Lacrosse Complex.

The Eagles pick up their first win of the season, improving to 1-3 and 1-1 in the league. FSU drops to 2-4 and 0-2 in league play.

Boston College dominated the draw circle with a 24-4 showing. Abbey Herod paced the team with a season-high nine draw controls. Giulia Colarusso carded a career-best seven, while Avery Hudson notched five draw controls.

Colarusso had a career day with a personal-best five goals, one assist and a career-high six points. Molly Driscoll tied her personal high with five scores, and Marissa White’s five points (3 goals, 2 assists) set a new season best.

Hudson added four points (2 goals, 2 assists) and Hanna Davis (2 goals, 2 assists) chipped in with four points – both career highs for the tandem. Julia Hodell led the team with three ground balls and Shea Baker totaled two caused turnovers. Shea Dolce totaled eight saves with a .533 save percentage.

The Eagles got off to a strong start in the opening quarter, taking an early 4-0 lead. White started the scoring, and Davis led the charge with both of her goals in the first 10:04 of the game. BC led by one going into the second after FSU scored three straight to slice the deficit.

BC started strong once again in the second period with a 3-0 surge capped off by a Hudson score, pushing the advantage to four, 7-3. FSU responded with two straight, followed by a Driscoll strike that gave BC an 8-5 lead into halftime.

It was all BC in the second half, limiting FSU to just two goals and outscoring the Seminoles, 11-2. BC scored the first four of the period to extend its lead to 12-5. Lily Kondas answered FSU’s goal that gave the visitors a 13-6 advantage in the fourth.

BC found another six goals in the final period, capped off by a Hudson tally, pushing the final margin to 12.

The Eagles return to action on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Clemson in the Morgan’s Message Game.
