CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College freshman forward Ava Thomas was named the Hockey East Rookie of the Month for January, as announced by the league office.
Thomas paced Hockey East in assists (8), points (13) and shots on goal (74) over eight games during the month. She recorded multiple points in five contests and averaged more than nine shots per game.
Her standout performance came on Jan. 16, when she posted a six-point effort with two goals and four assists in an 8-2 victory.
Overall, Thomas currently leads Hockey East in total points (39) and conference points (27), ranking among the league’s top offensive producers in her first collegiate season.
Boston College returns to action this weekend as the Eagles continue conference play, traveling to face No. 13 Holy Cross on Friday, Feb. 6, before visiting No. 7 UConn on Saturday, Feb. 7.
