CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College women’s basketball welcomes Pitt in a 6 p.m. matchup on Sunday evening inside Conte Forum on ACC Network.

    About the Eagles

    Last Time Out

BC suffered a 100-49 setback to Duke on Thursday in Cameron Indoor Stadium. Jocelyne Grier netted a team-best 13 points, scoring nine of her points in the second half. Lily Carmody chipped in with 10 points to round out the leading scorers. Both players set a career best in ACC play in points.

    A Win Would

    – Give BC a 5-12 record.

    – Snap an eight-game skid.

    – Give the Eagles their first ACC win of the season.

    – Win a fourth straight game at home against the Panthers.

    By the Numbers

3 – Coach Mac is the third-longest tenured head coach in the ACC.

7.3 – Jocelyne Grier’s 7.3 points per game in league action is third among freshmen who come off the bench.

8 – BC is 4-2 this season when recording at least eight steals.

27.7 – Lily Carmody has scored 27.7 percent of her points from the charity stripe. She is tied for fifth in the ACC with 50 free-throw makes.

42 – Erin Houpt is fifth among active leaders in 3-point field goal percentage, shooting 42 percent from the field.

    What to Watch for

    –  Jocelyne Grier is averaging 10 points over the last four games, highlighted by a 13-point performance against Duke. See if the freshman can continue her solid play off the bench on Sunday.

    – See if the Eagles can hit their 3-pointers, as Pitt has allowed at least 10 trifectas in six of its losses.

    – Watch if BC can score off Pittsburgh’s miscues, as opponents have averaged 20.3 points off turnovers in three league games.

    – See if BC can limit Pitt’s second-chance opportunities, as the Panthers are averaging 15.1 second-chance points in their seven wins.

    –  See if the Eagles can convert in the paint on Sunday. Opponents are averaging 33.8 points in the paint in Pitt’s losses (18.5 in wins).

    Scouting Pittsburgh (7-9, 0-3 ACC)

    – Pitt is coming off a 74-55 loss to Wake Forest in its previous outing.

    – Lauren Rust tied a game best with 17 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field.

    – Fatima Diakhate registered a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

    – Mikayla Johnson leads the team in scoring at 12.3 points per game.

    – Diakhate’s 9.1 rebounds per game is a team high, while Theresa Hagans Jr leads the team with 60 assists.

    Series History

The Eagles own a 36-21 record over the Panthers, capturing six of the last eight meetings. Pitt won last season’s contest on its home floor, 79-66, while BC has won the previous three meetings in Conte Forum in the series.

    What’s Next

BC hits the road for a 6 p.m. Thursday matchup against Notre Dame in South Bend.
