    In a nonleague matchup, Aiden Walter sunk a buzzer-beating 3-pointer as Lowell defeated Georgetown 65-63 in nonleague boys basketball action. Walter finished with 30 points.

    Girls basketball

    In nonleague play, Jasiya Norwood put in 24 points and Tajeaya Sterling added 14 as Durfee defeated Lawrence 64-39.

    In a Catholic Central League game, Mollie Mullen finished with 20 points, 10 steals, five assists and four rebounds to pace Bishop Feehan to a 57-48 win over Cathedral.

    Boys hockey

    Nate Peck and Greg Francis each had a goal and an assist as Apponequet (1-2) edged Southeastern/Bristol-Plymouth 3-2 in a nonleague matchup.

    Jaxon Hoey’s tally in overtime capped an impressive shutout, lifting Norwell (4-1) to a signature, 1-0 win over defending Div. 4 state champion Winthrop. … Junior captain Matt Ledbury delivered the game-winning goal in overtime, backing two goals from freshman James Tobin to lift Needham (1-1-2) to a 4-3 win over Wellesley.

    Freshman Max Colley dialed up a hat trick, helping Sandwich (4-1) beat Abington 6-2 for its fourth straight win. … James Johnson tipped home his second goal of the night with under two minutes left, lifting Xaverian (3-0) to a thrilling 2-1 win over Winchester.

    With two goals apiece from Josh Baker and Justin Thibert, and Bode MacKenzie’s first varsity goal, Shawsheen rolled to a 5-1 win over Danvers in the Lions Cup semifinals.

    Girls hockey

    Molly Whittier scored both goals and Miyana Bahl posted 16 saves in net, powering Waltham to a 2-1 nonleague win over Lexington. … Brooke Moreno tallied two goals for Dedham (3-0) as it defeated Ursuline, 4-3. … Senior captain Nevin Mustone scored and dished an assist as one of four different players to pot a goal for Malden Catholic (3-0) in a 4-2 win over Nauset.
