Jeremy Cluff writes: “Drake Maye and the Patriots have impressed during their 6-game win streak, but that win streak stops here. Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers are rested off of their bye and the Buccaneers’ defense will force some mistakes by the young New England QB.”
Bookies.com: Bet the Patriots with the points vs Buccaneers
Bill Speros writes: “Brady Bowl II. TB12’s former teams meet for the 2nd time since he left New England. (The Bucs and Brady beat New England 19-17 in 2021.) The 7-2 Patriots have won 6 straight and remain a perfect 4-0 on the road. Drake Maye showed some ugly glimpses of his rookie self in turning over the ball twice Sunday. But he and the Patriots survived a 24-23 win over Atlanta. Tampa Bay (6-2) comes off the bye. Its defense stacks well against the run. The Bucs will force Maye to walk the plank and win this with his arm. Baker Mayfield continues to work his wizardry despite an injury-depleted lineup that will likely be missing Chris Godwin (as well as Mike Evans). Look for lots of Cade Otton. This number smells just a bit. It dares you not to back the Pirate Ship. We accept that challenge – and the under – in our Week 10 NFL Best Bets.”
The site’s formula predicts that the Patriots will win the NFL Week 10 game against the Buccaneers.
ESPN: Buccaneers have a 57.5% chance to beat Patriots on Sunday
The site gives the Patriots a 42.2% shot at winning the NFL Week 10 game, with the remaining percentage accounting for a tie.
Dimers: Buccaneers 26, Patriots 21
It writes: “After extensive simulations, our model gives the Patriots a win probability of 33%, while the Buccaneers have a win probability of 67%.”
Sportsnaut: New England Patriots 20, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 17
Matt Johnson writes: “Given the ineffectiveness of the New England Patriots rushing attack (3.9 yards per carry), they are almost better off not even trying to establish the run against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3.9 ypc allowed). Fittingly, the same could be said for Tampa Bay (3.8 ypc) against the Patriots run defense (75.4 rush ypg allowed). Both defenses have also fared well versus the pass in recent weeks, but New England might have a bit more success on Sunday considering that Tampa Bay is thin at receiver right now. This is one of our favorite games on the NFL schedule for Week 10 and the winner could be put in a much better spot for the No. 1 seed in their conference.”
