    Eagles Fly to Stanford for ACC Tournament First Round

    CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College men’s soccer enters the ACC Tournament as the No. 15 seed and will travel to California to take on the second-seeded Stanford Cardinal on Wednesday evening in the first round. Kickoff is slated for 9:00 p.m. ET and the match will be broadcasted live on ACC Network Extra.
     
    REGULAR SEASON FINALE VICTORY
    • Boston College ended the regular season on a high note, picking up a 2-1 victory over Saint Joseph’s
    • Ask Ekeland scored twice for the Eagles, once in each half
    • Patrick Donovan recorded one save in net to earn his third victory of the year
    • BC held a 9-2 shots on goal advantage
     
    THE EAGLES
    • The Eagles enter the tournament with a 7-8-1 overall record
    • BC is the No. 15 seed in the ACC Tournament after going 1-6-1 in league play
    • Johannes Hanken Tjostheim leads the Eagles in points (16) and goals (8)
    • Ekeland is second on the team in points with 13, posting five goals and three assists
    • Russell Brown, Nikolai Rojel, and Bryan Toro each have two goals
    • Andrej Borak has posted four shutouts thus far, making 55 saves across 13 games played
     
    A LOOK AT STANFORD
    • Stanford enters the match with a 12-2-2 overall record
    • The Cardinal are the No. 2 seed in the ACC Tournament after going 5-2-1 in league play
    • Stanford is coming off a 1-0 defeat to Cal in the final game of the regular season
    • Trevor Islam has a team-high 15 points and six goals
    • Joshua Partal leads the team in assists with six
    • Rowan Schnebly has started all 16 games in net, making 27 saves and allowing just 13 goals for a 0.82 goals against average and a .675 save percentage
     
    SERIES HISTORY AGAINST THE CARDINAL
    • The Eagles are 0-3-0 all-time against the Cardinal
    • The two teams met earlier this season in California, with Stanford claiming a 3-0 victory
    • The first matchup took place during the 1985 campaign, which ended in a 2-0 decision in favor of the Cardinal
     
    UP NEXT
    • With a win, BC would travel to play the winner of No. 2 SMU and No. 10 Wake Forest on Sunday. Kickoff time will be determined following the first round matches.
