The United States women’s national team cruised to a friendly victory over New Zealand in Kansas City Wednesday evening.

    Scorers: Sears 8′, 55′, 84′, Macario 34′, 67′, Lavelle 44′,

It was one-way traffic from the start at the CPKC Stadium, with the U.S. dominating the ball and taking an early lead through Emma Sears.

But Emma Hayes’ side were well in the clear by the half-time break thanks to goals from Catarino Macario and Rose Lavelle.

Both Sears and Macario completed their braces in the second half as the U.S. marched onto to a five-goal lead in the dying minutes.

And just when you thought the scoring would stop there, Sears followed her first two goals up with her third of the night for a superb hat-trick in front of a grateful Kansas City crowd.

Emma Hayes’ side finished with more than 80% of the possession on the night as they coasted to the finish line.
