CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College Eagles women’s soccer team will wrap up the regular season Thursday night on the road at No. 7 Virginia. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Klöckner Stadium, with live coverage on ACCNX.

The Eagles (5-7-5, 1-6-2 ACC) return to action following a hard-fought stretch that included a 1-0 win at Syracuse and a narrow 1-0 setback against Clemson. Amalia Dray provided the game-winner against the Orange in the 32nd minute on a penalty kick, while goalkeeper Olivia Shippee has continued to anchor the back line with seven shutouts this fall.

    BY THE NUMBERS

BC has scored 20 goals in 17 matches, averaging 1.18 per game while limiting opponents to just 0.76 goals per contest. Senior midfielder Sophie Reale leads with six goals and 13 points, while freshmen Emily Mara, plus Sophia Lowenberg and Milla Lee each have three goals. The Eagles hold a 123-64 edge in corner kicks and Shippee has logged 1,494 minutes with a .846 save percentage.

    REALE MAGIC

Reale has been the driving force in the midfield, recording six goals on 46 shots (21 on goal). Her vision, technique and finishing ability have established her as one of the ACC’s most reliable scoring threats.

    FRESHMAN PHENOM

Mara was recently named to the Top Drawer Soccer Top 100 Freshman list, underlining her impact. She has posted three goals and an assist, while ranking among team leaders in both shots (31) and shots on goal (18).

    A LOOK AT THE OPPOSITION

Virginia comes into the finale with an 11-2-3 overall record (5-2-2 ACC) and is ranked among the nation’s top programs. Fifth-year forward Lia Godfrey leads the Cavaliers with 10 goals and four assists for 24 points. Senior Maggie Cagle has added seven goals and four assists for 18 points. Virginia averages 2.06 goals per game while holding opponents to 0.69 goals per game, and they’ve earned 100 corner kicks this season. In net, the Cavaliers are anchored by standout goalkeepers who have combined for a significant number of saves—and enjoy a strong shutout total.

    SERIES HISTORY

Virginia leads the all-time series against Boston College. The Eagles will be looking to break through for their first win over the Cavaliers since 2018 as they head into the postseason.
