Find the field hockey brackets and our initial analysis here, and if you’re looking for girls’ volleyball insights, read this. The first prelminary-round games are scheduled for Wednesday.

Soccer brackets will be released Saturday, followed by football on Sunday.

As always, find Tuesday’s scores and recaps here.

    ▪ With a goal in a 4-1 loss to St. John Paul II, Sturgis West senior Mary Kudarauskas finished the regular season with the school record for goals in a season (28) and a career (66), with the playoffs upcoming. Sturgis West freshman Abby McCartin, who had assisted Kudarauskas, tied the school record for assists in a season (14), matching the mark set by Sydney Ahern in 2020, and recording the most for a freshman in school history.

    ▪ Jacqueline Manning scored all three of North Quincy’s goals in a 3-2 win over Marshfield, making her the leading goal scorer in program history with 53 tallies, passing Tricia Hughes, who finished with 52 in 1992.

    ▪ Monday’s 4-1 win over Bishop Feehan was significant as New Bedford boys’ soccer coach John Macaroco picked up his 300th career win. In 2001, Macaroco took over the Whalers from Manny Matos, who won 341 games over 24 years.

    ▪ On Monday, Saugus girls’ soccer senior Shawn Sewell recorded her 100th career point in a 1-1 draw with Billerica. She assisted on her sister Shalyn’s goal.

    ▪ Medfield boys’ soccer locked up the Tri-Valley League Small championship with a 7-1 win over Medway on Max Tillmann’s hat trick. The Warriors finished 12-1-1 in the league and 14-3-1 overall.

    ▪ Boston Latin boys’ soccer secured the Dual County League’s Foley Division title for the first time since 2017 with a 1-0 win over Bedford. The Wolfpack recorded five straight league shutouts down the stretch.

    ▪ Lincoln-Sudbury girls’ soccer claimed its first Dual County League title in 10 years with a 3-1 win over Westford behind goals from Ciara Morrissey, Cam Bulat, and Alexia Hultin.

    ▪ The Duxbury boys’ soccer team sits atop the Patriot League’s Keenan Division for the first time since 2017 thanks to a 5-0 win over Hanover on the back of a goal and two assists from Lucas Heald.

    ▪ The Duxbury boys’ win came a day after the Dragons’ girls’ soccer team locked up the Patriot Keenan title with a 4-1 Monday win over Hingham that saw Lilah MacQuarrie pot a pair of goals.

    ▪ Also Monday, Pembroke boys’ soccer defeated Scituate, 1-0 to claim its fifth Patriot League Fisher Division crown in a row.

    ▪ Wilbraham and Monson senior Selah Prignano, who hails from Newington (Conn.) also plays with the Connecticut Elite announced her committment to play women’s basketball at Sacred Heart.

    ▪ Cushing Academy senior Isys Dunphy, who is from Barrington, R.I., and also plays with Mass Rivals, announced her commitment to play women’s basketball at Central Connecticut State.

    ▪ Xaverian senior Christian McIntyre announced he has decommitted from Colgate. The 6-foot-1-inch, 185-pound wide receiver is having a big season as one of quarterback Will Wood’s primary targets.

After handing Tri-County its first loss of the season, 14-7, Blue Hills football coach Ed Madden was recognized as the New England Patriots Coach of the Week.

Trailing 7-6 in the second half, Madden led the Warriors to a win behind the running game of Mikey McDonagh, who had 117 rushing yards and scored the winning touchdown with 10 minutes to play. Tyson Kimbrough-Farmer made a pair of fourth-quarter interceptions to seal the win. After an 0-3 start, Blue Hills has won four in a row.

“This victory underscored how much the team has grown,” said Patriots Hall of Famer Andre Tippett as he presented the program with a $1,000 check from the Kraft Family and Patriots Charitable Foundation. “After a rough start, Blue Hills has won four straight and secured a major rivalry win at the right time. This victory is a huge push to win their conference, and they are in the driver’s seat.”

Methuen High has named Jordan Britton as its varsity baseball coach. A 2011 Whittier and 2015 Norwich University graduate, he was head coach at Sanborn (N.H.) from 2020-23, and has also served as an assistant at Haverhill and Littleton (N.H.).

“In his interviews, Jordan presented a well formulated plan to enhance our baseball program. I look forward to the implementation of this plan and the positive impact it will have on our baseball program,” said Methuen athletic director Tom Ryan.

Britton takes over a team that went 8-13 last year in Cam Roper’s fourth season, and posted its last winning record in 2023 (14-10).

    ▪ New Hampshire’s Grace Blume, a Dedham graduate, was named America East Diver of the Week for the second consecutive time. Blume won the 1-meter dive with 288.75 points, a 37.05-point victory against Central Connecticut State. She also won 3-meter diving (269.93) by 38.78 points.
