BOSTON, MA (WFSB) – Fresh off their bye week, the UConn Football team took their talents and their three-game winning streak on the road to face Boston College. Even though the Huskies were in control for most of the first half, the Eagles found the end zone with a minute remaining in the second quarter, sending the Huskies into the break down, 20-17.

However, the Huskies offense led by Quarterback Joe Fagnano, started barking in the third quarter, outscoring Boston College 21-3, in the final two quarters. That second half offensive explosion helped the Huskies pick up a big win on the road, 38-23.

Fagnano continues to be a force behind center for the Huskies, throwing for 362 yards and scoring five total touchdowns, four passing and one rushing. Wide Receiver Skyler Bell has been a rockstar for UConn all year and he was playing all the right notes in this game, with 10 catches for 125 yards and a touchdown. Wide Receiver Juice Vereen balled out in this game as well, catching four passes for 82 yards and two touchdowns.

UConn’s defense played a big role in this victory. The Huskies pass rush got home early and often, sacking Boston College Quarterback Grayson James seven times. The Huskies kept the Eagles offense off balance for most of the game, giving Joe Fagnano and the offense all the time they needed to pull away with the win.

The 5-2 UConn Huskies have won four games in a row, and they’ll be looking to extend their winning streak to five games, when they fly down to Houston, Texas, next weekend to take on Rice. The opening kickoff between the Huskies and the Owls is set for 3:00pm.
