ITHACA, N.Y. — Boston College women’s hockey battled hard but came up short against No. 4 Cornell, falling 3-0 on Friday night at Lynah Rink.

Goaltender Grace Campbell kept the Eagles within striking distance, turning away 38 shots, including all 11 she faced in the third period. Despite her effort, Boston College (3-3-0) was unable to solve Cornell goaltender Annelies Bergmann.

The Eagles opened the game strong, matching Cornell with 10 shots on goal in the first period. Senior forward Ava Thomas and freshman Emma Conner both generated chances early, while Campbell made key stops to steady the defense. Cornell slipped one in midway through the frame to take a 1-0 lead into intermission.

Cornell added two goals in the second period, but the Eagles responded with pushback in the third, registering 10 more shots on net. Boston College pressed late, with looks from Thomas, Conner, and Maxim Tremblay, but the offense could not find the back of the net.

Boston College is back in action on Saturday for a rematch against Cornell. Puck drop is set for 3 p.m. at Lynah Rink.
