    Women’s Hockey Set for Trip to Face No. 4 Cornell

    CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women’s hockey team continues non-conference action with two games this weekend against No. 4 Cornell. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:00 PM on Friday and 3:00 PM on Saturday; both games will be broadcast on ESPN+. 

    WHAT TO WATCH FOR

    –  Boston College and Cornell will meet for two games at Lynah Rink

    – The last time out, BC came away with a 5-1 victory over conference opponent Providence. 

    – The Eagles are currently on a three-game win streak. 

    – Ava Thomas came up big for the Eagles against Providence. Thomas had three points, with two goals and one assist. 

    A WIN WOULD . . .

    – Boston College would improve to 4-2-0 overall.

    – Improve BC’s record to 9-15-1 against Cornell.

    – Give the Eagles their first win against Cornell since 2013. 

    SCOUTING CORNELL 

    – Cornell enters the 2025–26 season coming off a strong 2024–25 campaign, finishing 25-5-5 and reaching the Frozen Four.

    – The Big Red captured both the ECAC regular-season and tournament titles last year.

    – Cornell returns key veterans, including Rory Guilday on defense and Georgia Schiff leading the offense.

    – Offensively, Cornell averaged 3.3 goals per game last season while allowing just 1.5 goals against. 

    LAST TIME OUT 

    – Boston College earned its third straight win with a 5–1 victory over Providence on Saturday at Schneider Arena.

    – Ava Thomas led the offense with two goals and a game-high 10 shots.

    – Sammy Taber, Kate Ham, and Madelyn Murphy also scored for the Eagles.

    – Grace Campbell made 30 saves in goal to anchor the win.

    – The victory improved BC’s record to 3–2–0 overall and 2–0–0 in Hockey East play.

    HOCKEY EAST HARDWARE

    – Boston College forward Ava Thomas was named Hockey East Player of the Week after leading the Eagles’ offense in wins over Holy Cross and Providence. Thomas totaled three goals and two assists over the weekend, including a two-goal effort in the victory at Providence. Goaltender Grace Campbell earned Hockey East Goaltender of the Week honors following her strong play in net. Campbell stopped 58 of 61 shots and posted a .951 save percentage in the two victories. The pair helped the Eagles secure their third straight win and remain unbeaten in Hockey East play.

    FRESHMAN ON FIRE 

    – Ava Thomas has been the offensive spark for Boston College early in the 2025–26 season.

    – Leads the Eagles with five goals and 11 points through five games.

    – Ranks among the top scorers in Hockey East.

    – Has recorded at least one point in four of five games to start the year.

    – Leads the team with 38 shots on goal.
