More than 30 of Boston’s top chefs will come together for a fundraiser to support hunger relief, and foodies can get in on the action.
Spoonfuls’ Ultimate Tailgate will be held at Roadrunner in Brighton starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23.
Returning for its 15th year, the event will be hosted by Emmy Award-winner Jenny Johnson of NESN’s Dining Playbook and Meet Boston.
Attendees can take advantage of unlimited bites from some of Boston’s most acclaimed chefs and restaurants, bid in a silent auction and more.
Proceeds from the event will support the nonprofit Spoonfuls and its work to address food waste and food insecurity across Massachusetts.
“Ultimate Tailgate showcases Greater Boston’s culinary talent with a celebration of food and community, but it’s more than that — it’s a rally for our neighbors,” founder and CEO Ashley Stanley said in a press release.
“Every dollar raised helps us recover and deliver fresh, healthy food to our 200+ community partners serving individuals and families across our state,” she added. “With Covid-era rates of food insecurity and recent cuts to safety net programs, this work is especially critical right now.”
As the largest food recovery operation of its kind in New England, Spoonfuls has kept 40 million pounds of food out of landfills since 2010.
Ultimate Tailgate, the organization’s largest event of the year, will raise funds to support the recovery and distribution of 5.8 million pounds of food in 2025, according to the press release.
This year’s roster includes chefs from the following restaurants and groups:
-
Cambridge Street Hospitality Group
-
Capo Restaurant & Supper Club
-
Eastern Standard Kitchen & Drinks and Standard Italian
-
Traveler Street Hospitality
Tickets for Ultimate Tailgate can be purchased online. General admission is $175 and VIP is $350.
VIP tickets come with an elevated experience with early entry and exclusive access to the VIP mezzanine featuring specialty bites and cocktails. Those who can’t attend and want to buy a ticket are encouraged to make a donation.
