It was a battle between Huron League boys’ soccer powerhouses Monday evening with a piece of hardware on the line.

A few different outcomes determined whether the league trophy would be shared between host New Boston Huron and visiting Grosse Ile, or if the title would reside on one side alone.

When 80 minutes were in the books, it was the Division 2 No. 3-ranked Chiefs from Huron hoisting the trophy in front of the home crowd, celebrating the outright title for the first time since 2011 after a 2-1 win over their biggest league rival.
