The 2025 State Police Women’s Charity Softball Tournament was held on Saturday and Sunday, September 20-21 at Norlo Park in Fayetteville, with 11 different states represented.

Female State Troopers from all over the East Coast descended upon Franklin County to play in the tournament that benefited Franklin County Special Olympics and Susquehanna Service Dogs. States represented in the tournament included Maryland, Delaware, New York, Virginia, Tennessee, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Jersey, Connecticut, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

Approximately 320 State Police Troopers in attendance.

The tournament weekend started on Friday, September 19th at the Hampton Inn in Chambersburg with a “Meet & Greet” event. Saturday’s opening ceremony at Norlo Park included State Representative Rob Kauffman sharing opening remarks to welcome everyone to Franklin County for two days of fun and friendly competition to support two very worthy causes.

A team of state police horses and a helicopter were also present at the opening ceremony. The games began at 9 am and were played throughout the day until after 2pm.

Saturday evening festivities included a catered banquet in the brand new renovated social hall. Catered by Mission BBQ of Harrisburg, the meal included pulled barbeque chicken and pork, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, and cold drinks.

Dancing and mingling was a fun part of the evening as well, in addition to an auction held after dinner, with a variety of door prizes up for grabs.

Sunday’s schedule included more softball including the semi final games, and the championship game. The championship game was between Delaware and Connecticut with Delaware winning the tournament and capturing the annual trophy.

Lots of hugs an well-wishes ensued as troopers wrapped up a weekend of fun before heading back to their home states. The 2026 tournament will be held in Massachusetts.

“We really appreciate everyone who helped make this event possible,” stated Megan Frazier, spokeswoman for the tournament. “From the concession stand, t-shirt and coin sales, photographers and umpires, to those who made donations to the banquet and everyone who stepped up to help provide anything we needed, we can’t thank you enough! We raised over $30,000 for the two charities this weekend. That’s awesome!”
