CLEMSON — Clemson football is unranked in the US LBM Coaches Poll released on Sept. 14.

The Tigers (1-2, 0-1 ACC) received 116 votes after losing 24-21 to Georgia Tech (3-0, 1-0) on Sept. 13 at Bobby Dodd Stadium. The loss marked the fifth straight season Clemson lost to an unranked opponent. According to ESPN’s playoff predictor, Clemson entered the season with a 38% chance to make the CFP, the highest in the ACC. Now, the Tigers have a 5.4% chance.

Clemson looks to rebound against Syracuse (2-1) at home on Sept. 20 (noon ET, ESPN) at Memorial Stadium.

Three ACC schools are ranked: No. 6 Miami, No. 9 FSU and No. 19 Georgia Tech. ACC teams that did not make the coaches top 25 poll, but received votes, were Clemson, Louisville (53 points), SMU (24), NC State (13) and Cal (1).

Ohio State remained to No. 1 in the poll, earning 1,668 points and 62 first-place votes, and Penn State stayed at No. 2 with three first-place votes. No. 3 Georgia and No. 4 LSU received one first-place vote too.

The weekly poll is voted on by a panel of coaches chosen by random draw. Voters submit a top 25 with a first-place vote worth 25 points, second place worth 24, and so on down to one point for 25th, according to USA TODAY Sports.

    Clemson AP rankings update

In the AP poll, Clemson went from No. 12 to unranked, receiving only six votes. Miami (No. 4), FSU (No. 7) and Georgia Tech (No. 18) are the only ranked ACC schools.

ACC teams that did not make the AP Top 25 but received votes were Clemson, Louisville (25 points), SMU (6) and NC State (4).

Ohio State remained at No. 1 in the AP poll, earning 1,631 points and 55 first-place votes. Penn State stayed at No. 2 with five first-place votes. No. 3 LSU, No. 6 Oregon and Miami all received at least one first-place vote.
