Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora put a pretty decent bow on the Rafael Devers trade prior to a matchup against his now-former slugger on Friday.

It’ll never actually end, but you catch my drift.

Devers’ shipment off to the other side of the country brought about many reactions, reports and opinions. Yahoo published a pretty scathing report that shifts blame toward that of the organization. The Boston Globe did something similar, but toward that of the player. ESPN kinda buried both.

Cora was asked whether or not he’d like to clear the air on any of it.

“Clear the air about what? It’s a trade. It’s baseball. It’s a business,” Cora told reporters, per ESPN’s Jesse Rogers. “That’s how it works. Its not the first guy that’s gotten traded. It’s not the last guy. People have their opinions about the whole thing. Communication, first base, DH, third base, the manager, the GM, the owner, whatever. It’s a baseball trade. From my end, I turn the page.”

Cora’s response was… strong. It’s hard to blame him, though, as the entire week has been filled with questions regarding his role in one of the most shocking trades in recent sports history.

You can’t blame him for wanting to move past it, though, can you?

I don’t think anyone will be moving on anytime soon, and you can’t blame them for that, either, but the manager has a point at the end of the day.

    It’s a trade. It’s baseball. It’s a business.
