The Boston Red Sox are finally promoting one of their most recognizable prospects.
(No, it’s not Roman Anthony.)
Blaze Jordan will soon make his way from Double-A Portland to Triple-A Worcester, according to MassLive’s Christopher Smith. It’s a well-earned promotion for the former top prospect, who finally found his footing during a dominant first couple of months this season.
Jordan slashed .320/.415/.513 with six home runs, 11 doubles, 37 RBIs, 22 walks and just 19 strikeouts across 44 games with the Sea Dogs.
Boston originally drafted the power-hitting corner infielder in the third round (89th overall) in 2020 — handing him a hefty signing bonus to secure his commitment. It’s been an up-and-down ride for him ever since, as mental health struggles limited him at the conclusion of his first professional season, while the following two years saw his production slip considerably as he faced injuries before his return to form this spring.

The WooSox’s next game is against the Rochester Red Wings on Tuesday at Polar Park.
