I have a soft spot for the Mets. Not just because they’ve been a funny, kind of pathetic little team for most of my life. And not just because of the whole “enemy of my enemy thing,” either. I like them because they’re always interesting, with interesting and fun players.
Unfortunately, one of those interesting and fun players is pitching against the Red Sox tonight: Kodai Senga with his ghost splitter. And the bottom half of the Sox lineup looks like a bunch of puppy dogs. And, oh yeah, there’s also Juan Soto and Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso in the lineup. And their fans always travel well, too, which can be fun but also annoying.
So, anyway, let’s hope this night ends up fun, interesting, and victorious.
