With high school spring sports teams to start playing for real on Thursday, let’s take advantage of this last opportunity to celebrate the season just past.
Here below is our third annual best of winter photo gallery, this time featuring more than 80 images from more than 50 students, while showcasing athletes, coaches, and fans from across the state.
The Globe’s one-of-a-kind photojournalism program works with students from across Massachusetts to help cover the high school sports scene. In 2025-26, more than 220 students have signed up for this program, which is free for any Massachusetts high school student to participate in.
