The No. 8 Florida State Seminoles softball team crushed the Boston College Eagles on 10-0 on Friday in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Jazzy Francik threw her second no-hitter in as many weeks in the win, allowing just one base runner in six innings as FSu picked up the run-rule victory.

The Seminoles (44-8, 19-3 ACC) are one win away from winning at least a share of the ACC regular season championship and a sweep away from winning it outright. It is her third no-hitter of the season and fourth of her career.

Francik was in control from the start and did not allow a base runner until the fifth inning when Jaysoni Beachum was unable to catch a flyball just behind the circle with Isa Torres also closing in. She struckout six batters and allowed very little solid contact, throwing just 67 pitches.

Francik threw a no-hitter last Friday against Georgia Tech and one against Samford to start the season. She is the first FSU pitcher to throw three no-hitters in a season since Sarah Hamilton back in 2010. She now has four in her career, three of which are against ACC opponents.

FSU took control of the game in the second inning before blowing it open in the fourth. Kennedy Harp started the inning with a single before Hayley Griggs worked a two-out walk. Another lineout had Boston College one out away from escaping, but Torres and Beachum hit back-to-back doubles to go up 6-0 and force a pitching change. It made little difference as Ashtyn Danley singled home Beachum to go up 7-0.

The Seminoles opened the scoring in the second inning when Bella Ruggiero hit a leadoff single and stole second. Shelby McKenzie worked a one-out walk to put runners at the corners for Griggs, and the freshman came through with an RBI double. Makenna Sturgis kept it going with a two RBI double before Torres lined into an inning-ending double-play.

They added on in the sixth inning when Griggs started the inning with a single before scoring on a bunt by Sturgis, where the throw got into the outfield. Torres kept it going with a double and came around to score on a sacrifice fly by Danley, putting them up 10-0.

FSU and Boston College will return for Game Two of the series on Saturday. The game is set to start at 4 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on the ACC Network.
