CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College lacrosse concludes its three-game road trip with Virginia at 1 p.m. on Saturday on ESPNU.

    About the Eagles

    Last Time Out

BC snapped then-No. 15 Loyola Maryland’s five-game win streak with an 11-8 win last Saturday. The Eagles forced a season-high 13 turnovers and picked up 21 ground balls, led by Shea Baker’s four CTs, tying a season high. BC’s draw unit delivered a standout performance, winning the draw 13-8 and holding Loyola to a season low in draw controls. The Greyhounds entered the contest leading the nation in both draw control percentage (.696) and draw controls per game (18). Abbey Herod led the Eagles with six draw controls, while Giulia Colarusso added five. Defensively, BC recorded a season-high 11 caused turnovers, highlighted by Shea Baker’s four. Molly Driscoll continued her strong play, totaling five points for the second straight game with three goals and two assists. Marissa White led all scorers with four goals, while Hanna Davis added two goals and one assist for three points. Kylee Colbert also found the back of the net twice.

    A Win Would

Give BC a 9-5 mark and a 6-3 record in the ACC.

Increase the Eagles’ win streak to a season-long four games.

Improve BC’s record to 12-14 against UVA.

Give the Eagles a 10th win in the last 11 meetings against the Cavaliers.

    By the Numbers

    5
    – The Eagles are 6-0 this season when Giulia Colarusso records five or more draw controls in a game.

10 – BC is 28-3 when recording at least 10 caused turnovers (CTs) in a game, dating back to the 2022 season.

13 – Molly Driscoll (7 G, 6 A) has 13 points over the last three games (4.3 ppg), which is the most over a three-game span for her career.

231 – Abbey Herod is fifth all-time in school history with 231 draw controls.

610 – Shea Dolce is second in program history with 610 career saves.

    Sharing the Wealth

The Eagles this season have done a stellar job sharing the ball in their wins, assisting on 60.0 percent of their goals (39.5 percent in losses). During their three-game win streak, BC has assisted on 28 of its 46 goals, led by Casey Colber’s eight helpers. Molly Driscoll has six assists during the stretch, while seven Eagles have multiple assists.

    Defensive Prowess

BC has allowed just 24 goals over the three straight wins, while boasting a 5-0 mark when limiting its opponents to under 10 goals this season. The Eagles have a 25.1 defensive efficiency rating in their wins this season, which would rank first in the country and 97 straight wins when holding opponents to fewer than 10 goals.

    Scouting UVA (6-8, 4-4 ACC)

    – The Cavaliers are coming off a 19-4 setback to No. 2 UNC.

    – Fiona Allen led the team with a pair of goals.

    – Madison Alaimo leads the way with 46 points (12 G, 34 A).

    – Kate Galica has a team-high 28 goals with 10 assists for 38 points.

    – Galica also has a team-best 114 draw controls.

    Series History

The Eagles are 11-14 against the Cavaliers, but are 9-1 over the last 10 meetings in the series, with the lone loss coming in Charlottesville in 2024.
