The New England Patriots escaped Week 16 with a 28-24 win over the Ravens.
The Patriots played one of their worst games of the season, as they struggled to get going on offense, couldn’t stop Baltimore on defense, and were sloppy with the ball. New England came together when it mattered, though, and scored the go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter to earn the four-point win and clinch a playoff berth.
The Patriots have the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins left in the regular season and still have a chance to earn the No. 1 seed for the AFC.
The Ravens now face playoff elimination. Even worse, Baltimore has to face the Green Bay Packers on the road in Week 17, and could be down its starting quarterback. Lamar Jackson suffered a back injury in the first half and did not return to the game. Tyler Huntley did his best, but was unable to lead Baltimore to a win.
Now, if the Ravens lose in Week 17, or if the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore will be eliminated from playoff contention.
Here are the results as two of the AFC’s best faced off in primetime.
