▪ With a 12-6 victory over Keefe Tech, Minuteman finished 6-5, the program’s first winning record in 12 years. The win came thanks to a dominant secondary that finished with 11 pass breakups and two interceptions.
▪ Blue Hills was so successful running the ball in a 30-16 victory over Bristol-Plymouth that three backs finished with more than 100 yards: Colton Metcalf (136 yards, 2 TDs), Kanyinsola Olanrewaju (149, TD), and Mikey McDonagh (104, TD).
Tim Durocher, Plymouth South — The senior is headed off to the Army, but first he scored three touchdowns, rushing for 70 yards on 15 carries and passing for 96 yards and a touchdown in a 27-21 overtime win over Plymouth North at Fenway Park.
James Leonard, Minuteman — The junior did a bit of everything, rushing for a score, intercepting a pass, and tying for the team lead with five tackles in a 12-6 victory over Keefe Tech.
Jordan Pedro, Tri-County — The sophomore was everywhere in a 51-14 win over Old Colony, drilling five extra points, catching four passes for 84 yards and a touchdown, and forcing and recovering a fumble.
Aavian Pena, KIPP — The junior ran 14 times for 150 yards and two scores, adding a receiving touchdown in a 34-11 victory against Lynn Tech.
Declan Walker, Tri-County — The senior made the most of his final game, completing 16 of 25 passes for 256 yards and three touchdowns in a 51-14 win over Old Colony.

▪ Coach Bill O’Brien and Boston College have lost a homegrown football recruit to Wisconsin. Arlington four-star offensive lineman Brady Bekkenhuis announced he has flipped his choice from the Eagles to the Badgers in a post Wednesday. Wisconsin offered the 6-foot-6-inch, 280-pound two-sport captain (he also wrestles) on Nov. 19 and a week later the senior, who is the 22nd-ranked offensive lineman in the class of 2026, per Rivals, made the switch.
▪ There were two college commitments to celebrate at Oliver Ames this week, with Lyn Cooper heading to Franklin Pierce to play field hockey, and Landon Sarney bound for Northeastern to compete in cross-country and track.

▪ Medway celebrated four seniors and their college commitments: Eamon McCarthy will play men’s lacrosse at the College of Wooster, Bella Cortis will play field hockey at Assumption, Ava Cortis will play field hockey at WPI, and Alicia MacRury will play women’s soccer at Southern New Hampshire.
▪ Hopedale senior Brady Wajda announced he will play baseball at Lasell University. The 2025 MBCA All-Star also plays with the Northeast Longhorns.
▪ Concord-Carlisle wrestling will now be coached by Peter Charnley, a two-time sectional champion for the Patriots who went on to be a scholar All-American at Western New England, graduating earlier this year. Charnley runs Lew Tang Wrestling in Acton.
▪ Former Newton North boys’ hockey coach Tom Ryan, a Boston University captain from West Newton, died last Thursday at age 59.
Ryan, who played for Newton North, was drafted in the seventh round by the Penguins in 1988 and went on to play 146 games in the NHL. He served as an assistant coach at Babson and Hingham and was head coach at Newton North from 2008-14. He also served as color analyst for BU men’s hockey radio broadcasts from 1992-2016.

▪ UMass senior Megan Olbrys, a Norwood graduate, was named UMass Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the Minutewomen to a pair of wins while averaging 17 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists.
▪ Emerson sophomore Jessie Silk, a Beaver Country Day graduate from Newton, was named to the NEWBA Weekly Second Team after earning All-Tournament honors at the UMass Dartmouth Tournament. She averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds in two games.
▪ Northeastern freshman Xavier Abreu, a Phillips Andover graduate from Lynn, was named CAA men’s basketball Player of the Week after averaging 24.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.0 steals in a 1-1 week for the Huskies. His 32 points against Duquesne was the highest-scoring output by a CAA player this season.
▪ Colby sophomore Dan Civello, a BC High graduate from South Weymouth, was named NESCAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Civello scored a career-high 35 points in a win over Endicott, going 7 for 10 on 3-pointers. He added 16 points and 14 rebounds in a win over Thomas College.
▪ Colby junior Kate Olenik, a Medfield graduate, was named NESCAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week by posting identical stat lines of 22 points, five rebounds, and three assists in two victories.
▪ Emerson junior forward Claire English, a Winchester graduate, was named NEWMAC Defensive Athlete of the Week, pulling down 14.5 rebounds per game in the Lafrance Hospitality Tournament at UMass Dartmouth, adding 2.5 blocks and 2.0 steals.
▪ Roger Williams senior Nathan Tassey, a Whitman-Hanson graduate, earned his third straight All American honor by finishing sixth at the Division 3 Men’s Cross Country National Championship in Spartanburg, S.C. He finished the 8K race in 23:54.3, setting a new school record.
▪ WPI graduate student Lauren Meinhold, an Acton-Boxborough graduate, was selected for the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division 3 Senior Team. Meinhold led the Crimson and Gray with 10 goals and five assists, finishing her career as a three-time All-NEWMAC selection.
▪ Husson senior Riley Mahoney, a Quabbin graduate from Oakham, was named Little East Conference Diver of the Week for a second straight week after sweeping both diving events at Clark University, breaking her own 1-meter school record with 231.75 points and 3-meter record with 186.1.
▪ Hun School quarterback Lukas Prock, a Wellesley native, was named New Jersey Prep Player of the Year. Prock, who reclassified as a sophomore after earning Bay State All-Star honors last year, completed 73 percent of his passes for 4,330 yards and 41 touchdowns. Prock has several power four Division 1 offers, including Ohio State.
▪ Westford Academy senior Maddie Smith, who plays out of Vesper Country Club in Tyngsborough, was named the Mass Golf Girls’ Junior Player of the Year. She finished with 930 points to beat out Lillian Guleserian of Blue Hills CC by 270. Xaverian senior Thomas Constantine, from Franklin, finished as Junior Player of the Year with 350 points, besting Max McColgan of Nashawtuc CC by 20.
▪ The Eastern Mass. Soccer Coaches Association will hold four All-Star games on Friday, with two each at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. at Concord-Carlisle High. The games will feature top players from Massachusetts, including All-Americans Luke Dougherty (Natick) and Garrison Murphy (St. John’s Prep). They will also honor the United Soccer Coaches of the Year: Oliver Ames’s John Barata and Norwell’s Michael O’Dea.
