CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College Football dropped a thriller to Georgia Tech, 36-34 on Saturday afternoon in Alumni Stadium.

Dylan Longeran finished 26-of-40 for 362 yards and two touchdowns. Lewis Bond caught eight passes for 106 yards, setting the program record for most catches in a career and a single season, surpassing Zay Flowers (2019-2022) in both categories.

Reed Harris hauled in five catches for a career-high 142 yards and a score. Kaelan Chudzinski recorded four catches for 25 yards and his fourth score of the season. Turbo Richard averaged 12.8 yards per carry en route to 141 yards on 11 rushes with two scores.

On the defensive side of the ball, KP Price led the Eagles with 10 tackles. Omar Thornton had nine tackles, while Isaiah Farris, Griffin Collins, and Owen McGowan had six each. Thornton forced his fourth fumble of the season early in the second quarter, which was recovered by Bryce Steele.

The Yellow Jackets opened the scoring when Malachi Hosley capped off a seven-play, 83-yard drive with a 27-yard rushing touchdown.

Richard tied the game up at seven only 40 seconds into the second quarter when he scored from a yard out following his 42-yard rush, which got BC into the red zone to end the first quarter.

Georgia Tech reclaimed the lead with five minutes gone in the second quarter, as it scored on a 71-yard screen pass for six.

The Eagles tied the game back up with 22 seconds to go in the first half when Longeran found Chudzinski for a three-yard touchdown catch following a 93-yard drive in just over a minute.

Jordan McDonald gave BC its first lead with a 14-yard rushing touchdown, completing a seven-play, 75-yard drive in 2:55.

The Yellow Jackets cut the deficit to four when they knocked in a 34-yard field goal to make it 21-17 with 4:35 to go in the third quarter.

Harris pushed the Eagles’ lead to double digits when he broke several tackles en route to an 18-yard touchdown reception.

Georgia Tech cut it down to eight with their second field goal of the game, a minute into the fourth quarter, which was good from 26 yards.

The Yellow Jackets scored with 7:33 to go in the game. However, on the ensuing two-point conversion, Charlie Comella stopped Haynes King short of the line to keep the score at 28-26

Georgia Tech retook the lead with a 54-yard rushing touchdown with just over six minutes to go.

Richards picked up his second rushing touchdown of the day with just over four minutes to go when he ran 43 yards for the score. The offense failed the two-point conversion on the following play.

The Yellow Jackets knocked in their third field goal of the game from 23 yards out to retake the lead 36-34 with 11 seconds to go. BC’s Hail Mary attempt fell short on the final drive, sealing the win for GT.

Boston College is back in action on Nov. 29, when it travels to the JMA Wireless Dome to take on the Syracuse Orange. The opening kick is still TBD.
