CHESTNUT HILL — Boston College women’s basketball downed Rider with a convincing 92-52 win on Wednesday evening in Conte Forum.

The Eagles earn a third straight win, improving to 3-1 after the four-game homestand. Rider falls to 1-1.

Athena Tomlinson dished out a career-high 10 assists with 10 points for her first-career double-double, while she added four boards.

Teionni McDaniel paced four players in double figures with a game and career-high 21 points on 6-of-11 shooting with six rebounds. Lily Carmody tallied 13 points with six off the glass and two assists. Jocelyne Grier came off the bench for her second straight game in double figures with 10. Ava McGee led the way with eight rebounds and nine points – both of which are personal bests.

A hot-shooting first quarter set the tone, as the Eagles shot 52.9 percent from the field with six treys, while four players scored at least six points. BC jumped out to a 22-6 lead midway through the first quarter after a Grier jumper. McDaniel scored the final five points of the period, giving BC a 31-9 lead after the first.

BC’s offense continued to surge in the second quarter, as McGee started an 8-0 run to end the first half, stretching the lead to 49-16 going into the break. The Eagles hit eight of their 3-pointers in the opening stanza and scored 24 second-chance points off 15 offensive rebounds.

The Eagles cruised to victory in the second half, reaching a 44-point cushion late in the fourth quarter en route to the wire-to-wire win to improve to 2-0 against Rider.

BC dominated the glass with a 49-24 showing, 30 second-chance points, and a season-high 21 offensive rebounds. Eleven of the 12 players who saw action found the scoring column, including Kennedy Hall in her first collegiate appearance and Emma LoPinto.

The Eagles return to action on Saturday at 1 p.m. in their first road contest against Providence.
