We had you covered with Wednesday’s playoff roundup, which featured a pair of double-overtime wins, plus Stoughton field hockey capturing its first postseason victory in 20 years.

AJ Traub went deep previewing all five girls’ volleyball divisions with analysis, predictions, and players to watch.

Alexandria Evans, Kat Cornetta, and Alexa Podalsky teamed up to do the same with all four field hockey divisions.

As always, find Wednesday’s scores and recaps on our revamped Scoreboard.

    ▪ In Dartmouth’s 2-0 boys’ soccer win over North Attleborough, senior Landon Raposa scored and notched an assist, surpassing 100 career points.

    ▪ Senior Jacqueline Manning, who broke North Quincy’s career girls’ soccer goals record Monday, passing Tricia Hughes, who finished with 51 in 1992, added two more goals Wednesday in a 2-1 win over Stoughton to push her record total to 55.

We get four days of football this week, with Chelmsford kicking things off with a 33-12 win over Lawrence thanks to three total touchdowns from Anthony Mauriello, who ran for two and threw a 54-yard scoring strike to Joseph Nordengren that sealed the win for the Lions (4-4).

Thursday features 59 games, as many schools moved off of Halloween, but there’s still 55 games Friday night, plus another 43 Saturday, including the much-anticipated St. John’s Prep vs. Catholic Memorial showdown.

    ▪ The Greater Boston League held its cross-country championships at MacDonald Park in Medford, where the Somerville boys and girls swept.

The Highlanders won their fourth-straight boys’ title with 28 points, besting second-place Medford (45) and third-place Everett (64) by placing four runners in the top 10, led by Henry Zarecor’s runner-up finish in 17 minutes, 30 seconds. Zarecor was 22 seconds behind boys’ champion Adam Lewis (17:08) of Medford.

The girls’ competition was much closer, with Somerville edging out Medford, 40-43, thanks to a tiebreaking win from their No. 6 runner, who finished 15th. Revere (108) took third. Aly Amin won for the Highlanders in 19:27, outpacing runner-up Emma Beardsley of Medford by 38 seconds.

    ▪ On Monday, South Shore Voc-Tech won the Vocational Small School girls’ volleyball championship with a 3-1 win over Smith Voc. Julia Da Silva had 17 kills and Fenway Valiente dished 26 assists.

    ▪ UConn redshirt senior Caroline Ducharme, a Nobles graduate from Milton, was named to the 20-player watch list for the 2026 Cheryl Miller award, which goes to the top small forward in Division 1 women’s college basketball. After missing nearly two years with injuries, Ducharme returned last February.

    ▪ Northeastern junior Eliza Teplow, a Nobles graduate from Wellesley, was named Coastal Athletic Association Goalkeeper of the Year, after leading the league in saves per game (7.6), producing 68 stops in nine contests. Teplow recorded three clean sheets.

    ▪ Senior swimmer Benjamin Lee, a Nipmuc graduate from Upton, was named Brandeis Athlete of the Week after winning three events during a season-opening win over Vassar. Lee won the 200 freestyle, 50 free, and 200 IM, and was also part of the winning 400 freestyle relay.
