Dodgers reliever Alex Vesia won’t be around for Game 1 of the World Series.

With the Fall Classic set to start Friday, Los Angeles announced on Thursday that Vesia, 29, will be “away from the team.”

“It’s with a heavy heart that we share that Alex Vesia is away from the team as he and his wife Kayla navigate a deeply personal family matter,” the Dodgers said in a statement posted to X. “The entire Dodgers organization is sending our thoughts to the Vesia family, and we will provide an update at a later date.”

It remains unclear what exactly the personal matter is or how much time the lefty will miss.

Vesia, drafted by the Marlins in 2018, has spent the past five seasons with Los Angeles after Miami dealt him to the Dodgers ahead of the 2021 season.

During his time with the Dodgers, Vesia has boasted a 2.67 ERA and 364 strikeouts across 295 appearances.

This season, the left-hander held a 3.02 ERA with five saves in 59⅔ innings as one of the Dodgers’ high-leverage relievers.

Vesia has already made seven appearances for Los Angeles this postseason, picking up a win against both the Phillies and Brewers.

In addition to Vesia, Dodgers closer Tanner Scott’s availability to pitch in the World Series is still up in the air.

Scott, who was taken off the roster with an abscess excision during the NLDS against the Phillies, said he feels ready to pitch.

“I feel a lot better now. There were a few days where it felt miserable,” Scott told reporters Monday. “I’m throwing, threw a couple of bullpens. I’ll see where it takes me. … I feel healthy.

“I definitely feel better than I did coming off that Phillies series. I wasn’t feeling great.”
