    CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – No. 9 Boston College returns to Kelley Rink for one game this weekend, hosting No. 7 Denver on Friday evening. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+. A radio broadcast on WEEI 850 AM begins 15 minutes prior to puck drop.
     
    SETTING THE SCENE
    • The Eagles improved to 2-1-1 after defeating RPI in its lone game of the week
    • Denver sits at 2-1-1 overall
    • Boston College remained at No. 9 in both the USCHO.com and USA Hockey national polls
    • Denver is No. 7 in both national polls
     
    WIN OVER RPI
    • BC played just one game this past weekend, picking up a 5-1 victory over RPI in non-conference play
    • James Hagens scored his first two goals of the season
    • Dean Letourneau and Jake Sondreal both finished with one goal and one assist
    • Brady Berard tallied his first goal of the year
    • Kristian Kostadinski, Luka Radivojevic, and Landan Resendes each recorded their first collegiate points
    • Louka Cloutier made 10 saves to earn his second win of the year
     
    THE EAGLES
    • J. Hagens leads the Eagles in scoring with five points on two goals and three assists
    • Ryan Conmy, Drew Fortescue, and Letourneau each have two goals
    • Andre Gasseau, Lukas Gustafsson, and Jake Sondreal all have three assists
    • Will Skahan, Fortescue, and Radivojevic are all tied with a team-high six blocked shots
    • Cloutier boasts a 1.30 goals against average, 59 saves, and a .937 save percentage through three games
     
    A LOOK AT DENVER
    • The Pioneers are coming off a weekend split to Lindenwood, falling 4-3 on Friday before picking up a 4-0 win on Saturday
    • Eric Pohlkamp leads the Pios in points (6) and goals (3)
    • Hagen Burrows and Clarke Caswell both have five points on two goals and three assists
    • Paxton Geisel and Quentin Miller have split time between the pipes this season, combining to make 92 saves across four games
    • Pioneer defenseman Eric Pohlkamp was recently named to the U.S. Collegiate Select Team that will play at the 2025 Spengler Cup in Switzerland
     
    SERIES HISTORY
    • The Eagles are 16-22-0 all-time against the Pioneers
    • Recent history has been in favor of Denver with three-straight wins, including the 2024 National Championship and the 2025 NCAA Tournament Regional Final
    • BC last defeated Denver on October 23, 2021 in a 5-1 victory at Kelley Rink
     
    NHL NOTES
    • Ryan Leonard (Washington) scored his third goal of the season on Tuesday, marking back-to-back games with goals, becoming the youngest Capitals player to score in consecutive games since the 2007-08 season
    • Cutter Gauthier (Anaheim) scored his fourth goal of the season on Tuesday and added an assist in Anaheim’s victory over Nashville
    • Matt Boldy (Minnesota) has 10 points on four goals and six assists through the first seven games of the season
    • Through five games, Spencer Knight (Chicago) has a 1.96 goals against average and a .937 save percentage
    • Mike Matheson (Montreal) scored the game-winning goal for the Canadiens on Wednesday, with Alex Newhook picking up one of the assists
     
    UP NEXT
    • BC opens Hockey East play next weekend with a home-and-home series against Northeastern. The series opens Thursday at Kelley Rink before the return matchup at Matthews Arena the following night. Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m. on ESPN+ along with a radio broadcast on WEEI 850 AM.
