And don’t skip Cam Kerry’s moving piece on longtime boys’ soccer and hockey coach Steve Scanlon, who won more than 700 combined games and died last weekend at age 63. —

    ▪ Canton girls’ volleyball senior Erin Bigham dished her 2,000th career assist in a 3-0 Hockomock loss to Oliver Ames on Friday. She joins a short list of high school players in Massachusetts history to reach the mark: Barnstable’s Kayla Crook, Notre Dame Academy’s Corrine Cox, Frontier’s Emily Woodward, Dartmouth’s Cierra Yim, GNB Voc-Tech’s Elle McCormack, Old Rochester’s Aubrey Letourneau, Weston’s Riley Huml, and Dennis-Yarmouth’s Vivian Castano, who graduated in the spring as the state’s all-time leader with 2,589.

    ▪ Dartmouth girls’ volleyball junior Lindsey Barber became the fourth person in school history to reach 1,000 assists when she dished 21 of them in a 3-1 loss to Case on Friday. Her teammate, Chloe McKinnon, is one kill away from breaking the school’s 10-year-old career kills record of 682, held by Bailey Peach.

    ▪ He’s just a sophomore, but Mashpee’s Tristan Mastrogiacomo is already rewriting his own records. After tying the school record with five goals in an 8-3 win over Hull on Sept. 10, Mastrogiacomo netted seven goals in Friday’s 10-0 win over Sturgis East.

    ▪ With a 3-3 draw against Lynnfield, thanks to freshman Rylee Sullivan’s first career hat trick, the Danvers girls’ soccer team punched its postseason ticket for the 34th consecutive season, the longest active steak for a girls’ soccer team in Eastern Mass.

    ▪ Northbridge football became the second school in as many weeks, and eighth in state history, to reach 700 wins as a program. After Haverhill got there with a 42-35 win over Concord (N.H.) on Oct. 10, Northbridge (5-1) was on its heels with a 32-6 win over Blackstone Valley. Everett, Brockton, and Leominster all have more than 800 wins, and Waltham, Natick, and Salem are in the 700-win club, now joined by Haverhill and Northbridge. Fitchburg (0-6) has been sitting at 699 all season.

Three coaches reached significant milestones on Friday:

Nantucket boys’ soccer coach Rich Brannigan II earned his 300th win, 9-3, over Rising Tide Charter. Brannigan has led the Whalers (8-4) for 25 seasons.

Also joining the 300-win club was Peabody coach Stan McKeen, who had been waiting nearly a month to mark the milestone, and finally got to do so after a 2-1 victory over Saugus, thanks to goals from Jason Decost and Diego Remus.

With the win, Coach Stan McKeen enters an elite club with 300 wins!

Not far behind is Dennis-Yarmouth girls’ volleyball coach Dru Sisson, who secured her 250th career win as the Dolphins (7-9) topped Danvers, 3-1, on Friday.

With four goals each Saturday, St. Mary’s field hockey sophomore Cam Driscoll and junior Alyssa Norden both reached 22 for the season, setting a program record.

    ▪ Friday saw several more conference champions crowned, including both Franklin soccer teams. The boys (7-3-4) defeated Mansfield, 2-1, Friday to clinch the Hockomock Kelley-Rex division title, while the girls (8-4-1) topped the Hornets, 4-1, for their own Kelley-Rex crown.

    ▪ Hingham field hockey secured its fifth straight Patriot League Keenan Division title with an 8-0 victory against Whitman-Hanson that saw Ella O’Neill reach 50 career goals.

    ▪ The Old Rochester girls’ cross-country team swept Somerset Berkley, 15-50, on Friday, to clinch the South Coast Conference Large title. Maddy Haverty and Ellie Correia were the runners of the meet.

    ▪ Methuen/Tewksbury swim and dive defeated Lowell on Friday, 104-74, to end the regular season as Merrimack Valley Division II champions.

    ▪ North Middlesex girls’ soccer captured the Mid-Wach B Division title after beating Shepherd Hill, 2-1, bringing their unbeaten streak to 12 games.

Sharon senior Cyrus Jones has committed to wrestle at Williams. Jones is the single-season pins record holder at Sharon and reached 100 career wins in January.
