CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.  – Ava Thomas led the Eagles with three points in a 4-2 victory over the Holy Cross Crusaders, marking the start of Hockey East play.

Kate Ham opened the scoring just three minutes into the first period, giving the Eagles an early lead. Madelyn Murphy recorded her first goal as an Eagle nine minutes later, doubling the Eagles’ advantage. However, Holy Cross managed to cut the Eagles’ lead to one before the first intermission.
