Team USA has won the FIBA World Cup four times in a row. While the Americans remain the favorites to win it again this year, fans are growing concerned about their chances. This is after France reminded everyone why it is Team USA’s biggest challenger.
France set a new tournament record by making 22 three-pointers in its 111-56 win over Nigeria on Monday. The team shot 22-of-40 from beyond the arc, with Gabby Williams converting six triples and Marine Johannes adding five more. Janelle Salaun and Migna Toure knocked down four each.

Team USA and France are on a collision course and could meet in the finals to determine this year’s world champion. The Americans will face either Japan or Hungary in the quarterfinals, while France will battle the winner of the qualification game between China and Puerto Rico.
USA and France are on opposite sides of the knockout bracket, potentially setting up an epic final between these two powerhouse sides.
