The Globe’s high school photojournalism program is in its third year, but people still have questions about how it works, so let’s try to answer some of them now.
Which sports can high school photographers cover? Well, if this week’s photo gallery is any indication, just about any of them. Down below are pictures from baseball, softball, track, volleyball, and sailing.
Who can be a photographer? Any high school-aged student in Massachusetts can participate in this unique and free program.
When can they start? Right away! Take, for example, Blaine Batkin, a freshman from Attleboro High School, who landed the coveted lead image this week with his first published images.
Which schools and teams get to be featured? It all depends on which events the photographers cover and which pictures they submit, so every team in the state is in play. This week’s gallery has more than 40 pictures from 17 students who attend schools from Nantucket to Amherst.
