The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency advises Massachusetts residents to prepare for a power outage by doing the following:
• Keep electronic devices, including cellphones and essential medical devices, fully charged.
• Use generators and grills outside because their fumes contain carbon monoxide.
• Call 9-1-1 to report emergencies, including downed power lines, or if you are dependent on equipment that requires electricity and need medical assistance.
A blizzard warning is in effect for all of eastern, central and southern Massachusetts and is set to last until 7 a.m. Tuesday. During this time, communities in these areas could get 18 to 25 inches of snow and experience wind gusts up to 75 mph.
