CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College Women’s Track and Field gears up for its final indoor meet of the regular season, as they take on the Saucony Battle for Boston at the BU Track & Tennis Center on Sunday, February 22. The event will be streamed on FloTrack.
The Eagles took on three meets last weekend, with their best success coming at Washington University’s Husky Classic. The DMR group of Hanna Hollins, Sydney Segalla, Iris Bergman, and Imogen Gardiner highlighted the first day of the meet by setting a new school record. Running a 10:47.53 to finish second overall, the quadruple’s time is the fastest in the ACC and fourth fastest in the NCAA.
On the second day, Anna Sonsini improved on her school record in the 60m, clocking a 7.51 to finish inside the top three of the dash. Gardiner followed later on with the team’s third school record of the weekend, as she ran the first sub-nine-minute 3000m in program history with a time of 8:54.99. Her mark ranks fourth in the ACC and top 30 in the NCAA.
Sunday will be Boston College’s first time racing at the Saucony Battle for Boston, with the traveling party primarily running in distance events.
