    With the Massachusetts high school basketball season at the midway point, we’re taking a look at the best girls basketball players competing in the MIAA for the 2025-26 season.

    Our next list focuses on the top forwards in the state.

    Note: In the modern era of position-less basketball, many players on our lists could be slotted at multiple positions.

    Top forwards in Massachusetts high school girls basketball in 2026
    Eva Andrews, Needham girls basketballJack Belanger

    Eva Andrews, Needham, Sr.

    A skilled 6-foot-2 forward, Eva Andrews is a walking double-double. Through the first 13 games of the season she’s averaging 12.4 points and more than 12 rebounds per game. A Bowdoin commit, Andrews recorded a remarkable 23-rebound, 13-point, 10-block triple-double in a win over Natick on Jan. 23.

    Ellen Baranowski, Norwood, So.

    Only a sophomore, Ellen Baranowski is posting some huge numbers for Norwood, including 29 points and 20 rebounds in a big win over Medway on Jan. 20. She has helped lead Norwood to an 11-2 record and a No. 7 ranking in the latest MIAA Division 2 Power Rankings (through Jan. 29).

    A 5-foot-9 small forward, Bella Bingham averaged 17.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3 steals per game as a junior. A two-time Bay State All-Star, she recently surpassed 1,000 career points. A high-level athlete, Bingham committed to Fairfield to play Division I college soccer.

    Caitlin Boyle, Bishop Fenwick, Sr.

    A versatile 6-foot-2 forward, Caitlin Boyle averaged 16.7 points and 7.6 rebounds per game as a junior and was named a Catholic Central League All-Star for the second time. A Stonehill College commit, Boyle is averaging 16.1 points and 9.4 rebounds through her first nine games of the 2025-26 season.

    Phoebe Carroll, Hopedale, Sr.

    A dynamic three-sport athlete, Phoebe Carroll has recorded more than 1,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds. She has helped lead Hopedale to a No. 2 ranking in the latest MIAA Division 5 Power Rankings (through Jan. 29).

    Harolyn Castillo, Pittsfield, Sr.

    A skilled forward, Harolyn Castillo sets the tone for Pittsfield with her defense. She’s had multiple games with more than 7 steals this season, while averaging 13.9 points per game. She eclipsed 1,000 career points in a loss to Minnechaug on Jan. 24.

    Angie Djoko, Danvers, Sr.

    A double-double machine, Angie Djoko posted one of the most impressive stat lines in the state this season in a win over Masconomet on Jan. 8: 21 points, 20 rebounds, 8 steals and 4 assists. Through 13 games she’s averaging 14.5 points, 10.2 rebounds and 3.3 steals. A versatile 5-foot-10 forward, Djoko committed to Trinity College in the fall.

    Kayla Dunlap, Natick, So.

    A versatile 5-foot-11 forward, Kayla Dunlap earned Bay State Conference All-Star honors as a freshman. Through the first 13 games of her sophomore season she’s averaging 23.9 points and has scored 30 or more points four times.

    Jordan Egan, North Attleborough, So.

    A 6-foot power forward, Jordan Egan has helped lead North Attleborough to a 10-4 record and a No. 12 ranking in the latest MIAA Division 2 Power Rankings (through Feb. 2). A physical presence in the paint, Egan racked up 21 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Sharon on Feb. 1.

    Anna Freeman, Medway, Sr.

    A 6-foot post, Anna Freeman has led Medway to a 10-3 start and a No. 5 ranking in the latest MIAA Division 3 Power Rankings (through Jan. 29). A two-time Tri-Valley League All-Star, Freeman scored a career-high 28 points in a win over Dover-Sherborn on Jan. 30. She committed to Babson over the summer.

    Meredith Gibbs, Dover-Sherborn, Sr.

    A senior captain, Meredith Gibbs has consistently posted double-doubles for Dover-Sherborn this season. A big-time rebounder, Gibbs racked up 20 points and 18 rebounds in a win over Dedham on Jan. 20, then followed with 23 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Holliston.

    Maeve Horsman, Oliver Ames, Sr.

    A 5-foot-9 forward, Maeve Horsman forms a dynamic combination with guard Avery Gamble. Horsman’s all-around play has helped lead Oliver Ames to a 9-4 record and a No. 10 ranking in the latest MIAA Division 2 Power Rankings (through Jan. 29).

    Emma Jolley, Fontbonne, Sr.

    A skilled senior forward, Emma Jolley is a dynamic rebounder and defender who fills up the stat sheet. In a win over Hull on Jan. 19, Jolley racked up 20 points, 12 rebounds, 4 blocks and 3 steals.

    Sarah Michel, Blue Hills, So.

    A multi-skilled forward, Sarah Michel is a force in the paint for Blue Hills. A double-double machine, Michel racked up a rare triple-double earlier this season with 31 points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocks in a win over Upper Cape.

    Jenna Mishou, Archbishop Williams, Sr.

    A multi-skilled 6-foot-2 forward, Jenna Mishou averaged 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks last season for Archbishop Williams. Mishou, who is closing in on 1,000 career points, committed to Division 1 Merrimack in the offseason.

    A physical presence in the paint, Cailin O’Brien does a lot of the dirty work for a really good Minnechaug team. But she can score when needed and is averaging 11.4 points per game through her first 14 games of the season.

    Kendall O’Brien, Westfield, So.

    One of the best class of 2028 players in the state, Kendall O’Brien is having a big sophomore season for Westfield. She’s averaging 16.2 points per game through her first 15 games and has scored in double digits every game. “She is a beast,” Westfield coach Christie Mirski said after a win over Chicopee on Jan. 15. “I don’t even know what else to call her. She’s just a great athlete; she’s an even better person. She’s just a phenomenal kid and I love coaching her. She’s what every coach would want in a kid – just wants to learn, just hungry to get better and is always trying to improve.”

    Anna Oravec, Northampton, Jr.

    A 5-foot-10 forward, Anna Oravec was a first team All-Western Massachusetts selection last season as a sophomore. Through the first 15 games of her junior season she’s averaging 12.9 points per game and has recorded multiple double-doubles, including 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks in a win over South Hadley on Jan. 22.

    Kaitlyn Pepin, Westford, Sr.

    A 6-foot-1 post, Kaitlyn Pepin has helped lead Westford to a 10-4 record and a No. 17 ranking in the latest MIAA Division 1 Power Rankings (through Feb. 2). Pepin committed to Division III Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in the offseason.

    A versatile 5-foot-10 forward, Kate Phillips is averaging 13.9 points per game through the first 16 games of the season. She dropped a season-high 25 points in a big win over Longmeadow on Feb. 2.

    Maliah Pierre, Whitman-Hanson, Jr.

    A versatile 5-foot-10 forward, Maliah Pierre is an elite finisher around the rim and has scored 30-plus points multiple times this season. Her stellar play has helped lead Whitman-Hanson to a 14-1 record and a No. 1 ranking in the latest MIAA Division 2 Power Rankings (through Feb. 2).

    Kiyah Price, Chicopee, So.

    An All-Western Mass. Second Team selection as a freshman, Kiyah Price is a versatile 5-foot-9 forward who can score inside and out. Through the first 17 games of her sophomore season she’s averaging 14.8 points per game. She dropped 30 in a win over Easthampton on Jan. 19.

    Abbie Rabinovich, Hopkinton, So.

    A physical presence in the paint, Abbie Rabinovich had a breakout freshman season and earned All Tri-Valley League honors. She’s elevated her game as a sophomore, regularly posting double-doubles, including 15 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Dover-Sherborn on Jan. 23.

    Camden Strandberg, Bridgewater-Raynham, Sr.

    A dynamic 6-foot-2 forward, Camden Strandberg can score at all three levels and is a matchup nightmare for the opposition. Strandberg consistently puts up incredible stat lines, including 29 points, 10 rebounds, 4 blocks, 3 assists, and 2 steals in a win over Fontbonne on Feb. 1.

    Ava Vitti, Ashland, Jr.

    A skilled 5-foot-10 forward, Ava Vitti is a force on both ends of the floor for Ashland. Vitti posted one of the most impressive performances in the state this season when she dropped 41 points in a win over Dover-Sherborn on Jan. 5.

    Zi’Yan Wallace, Springfield Central, Sr.

    One of the top class of 2029 prospects in the state, Zi’Yan Wallace started playing varsity basketball as a seventh grader and has already eclipsed 1,000 career points. A dynamic 6-foot forward, Wallace earned All-Western Mass. First Team selections in each of the past two years at Springfield Renaissance School. Through the first 12 games of the 2025-26 season Wallace is averaging 12.7 points per game and has helped lead Central to a 10-2 start.

    Samone Young, Easthampton, Sr.

    A versatile forward, Samone Young is averaging 17.3 points per game through the first 12 games of her senior season. Also a soccer standout, Young dropped a season-high 29 points in a win over Mount Greylock on Feb. 2.
