What is the Puppy Bowl?
Every year, people all over the US eagerly anticipate the Super Bowl, but many forget about man’s best friend’s big day: the Puppy Bowl.

The cutest game in America is just around the corner.
The 22nd Puppy Bowl is set to broadcast a few hours before Super Bowl 60, making it the perfect pre-show for the big game.
The longest-running call-to-adoption television event will return this weekend with a record 150 dogs from 72 shelters across the country as well as Puerto Rico and the British Virgin Islands.
These cuddly canines and spirited mutts that make up Team Fluff (with the blue bandanas) and Team Ruff (with the orange bandanas) will battle for the coveted Lombarky Trophy, while also playing up for the cameras in hopes of finding their forever home.
Out of those 150 dogs, did you know that there are three from Massachusetts shelters?
Here are the pups from the Massachusetts and the shelters they’re from.
Puppy Bowl 2026 players from Massachusetts
Duke Snugglebug is a black and white spotted dog from Great Dog Rescue New England, a shelter in Massachusetts. Snugglebug is playing for Team Ruff.
Tostada is a primarily white dog with a black nose and perky ears from Great Dog Rescue New England in Massachusetts. Tostada is playing for Team Ruff as well.
Travis is a smaller dog with a mix of light brown and dark brown fur with droopy ears. Travis is representing Great Dog Rescue New England like the other Massachusetts fur friends in the Puppy Bowl. Travis is playing Team Fluff, however.
Team Fluff won the Puppy Bowl in 2025, scoring two points more than Team Ruff. We’ll have to see how Team Ruff fares better this year or if it’ll be a repeat of last year.
