    BRILLION – The Ariens Nordic Center in Brillion has been selected as a host venue for the 2028 U.S. Women’s Disc Golf Championships, a premier event in the Professional Disc Golf Association calendar and a major draw for disc golf fans across Wisconsin and the Midwest.

    The tournament is expected to bring more than 350 competitors and 2,500 spectators to Calumet County and the Manitowoc area, strengthening Northeast Wisconsin’s growing reputation as a disc golf destination.

    As part of the announcement, Ariens Nordic Center revealed plans for a new championship‑level disc golf course, set to open in summer 2026. The course will expand local outdoor recreation opportunities and add to the rising number of high‑quality Wisconsin disc golf courses.

    The Lakeshore Ladies Disc Golf Corporation of Manitowoc will partner in hosting the event, further elevating women’s disc golf in the region.

    What’s the disc golf scene around Manitowoc?

    Manitowoc is home to several well‑rated and free‑to‑play disc golf courses, each with its own terrain, challenge level and scenic appeal. Local players and visiting competitors have access to a variety of layouts ranging from championship‑level coastal courses to wooded technical tracks.

    Disc golf courses in the Manitowoc area include the following:

    • Silver Creek Park — Manitowoc’s highest‑rated and most iconic course, featuring 36 permanent holes, elevation changes, wooded fairways, and the famous “Lighthouse Hole” overlooking Lake Michigan.  
    • Indian Creek Park — A 46‑acre park with an 18‑hole disc golf course, known for wooded terrain, wildlife and an adjacent off‑leash dog park.
    • Wilson Junior High DGC — A small, beginner‑friendly 2‑hole course at Wilson Junior High, best suited for quick practice or new players.
    • Lower Cato Falls Park (nearby in Reedsville, about 10 miles west) — A scenic, popular 18‑hole course noted for natural beauty and varied terrain.
    • Picnic Hill Park (Two Rivers) — A wooded, quiet course near Neshotah Beach offering a relaxed, nature‑focused layout.
    • Lakeshore College Cleveland Campus (Cleveland) — A free‑to‑play course on the Lakeshore College grounds, offering accessible play close to Manitowoc.
