PITTSFIELD — The 2025 MountainOne Thankful 5K is back for its 10th year, launching a fundraising effort to support local food pantries and fuel assistance programs across the Berkshires.

With more community members facing food insecurity amid cuts to funding and services, MountainOne is once again partnering with the Berkshire Running Foundation to help meet the growing need. The annual Thanksgiving Day event will be held at 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27, at Berkshire Community College, 1350 West St., Pittsfield.

“MountainOne is thrilled to be partnering with the Berkshire Running Foundation to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Thankful 5K,” said Jonathan Denmark, president and COO of MountainOne Insurance and executive vice president of MountainOne Bank. “Shiobbean and her team work tirelessly to ensure that the proceeds from this race reach our community members who need assistance. We are grateful for the work of the Berkshire Running Foundation and proud to help achieve its mission.”

In honor of the event’s 10th anniversary, all participants — running in person or virtually — will have the option to create an individual fundraising page to benefit a local food pantry or fuel assistance fund of their choice. One hundred percent of participant-raised funds will go directly to those selected organizations.

The Berkshire Running Foundation also hosts a food drive as part of the event, collecting nonperishable items from participants. The effort has historically generated thousands of pounds of food for area pantries.

    Registration and Sponsorship

Registration is open at the 10th Annual MountainOne Thankful 5K Registration Page or in person at the Berkshire Running Center, located downstairs at the Allendale Shopping Center.

Sponsors are welcome to join the effort by reviewing the Sponsorship Package on the foundation’s website.
