▪ The Weymouth boys’ golf team is already off to the best start in program history, improving to 6-0 after defeating Archbishop Williams, 124-89, and Norwood, 124-108, as they head to The Country Club to face Brookline (2-1) on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Mashpee boys’ golf picked up its first South Shore win in more than two years, topping Abington, 109-104.

▪ Former Masconomet coach Michael Scammon picked up his first win at helm of North Andover girls’ volleyball, a 3-1 victory over Lynn Classical. A teacher at Methuen, Scammon also coaches the NA boys. After eight seasons as boys’ JV coach, Jensen Perez was promoted to head girls’ coach at Leominster and picked up his first win, 1-0, over Bromfield.

▪ St. John Paul II golf made its debut in the Cape & Islands Atlantic Division after switching from the Lighthouse after winning five consecutive league titles. The Lions opened life their new division with a 234-243 win over Falmouth.

▪ Lynn Classical girls’ soccer defeated Lynn English, 5-1, and St. Mary’s defeated Lynn Tech, 11-0, setting up a Lynn City Tournament championship game between Classical at St. Mary’s at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

St. Sebastian’s boys’ lacrosse coach Adam White has departed for Phillips Exeter, his alma mater.

White led the Arrows to two ISL championships, a pair of semifinal appearances in the Geico National Tournament, and, at one point, the No. 5 ranking in the nation. He was named ISL Coach of hte Year in 2019 and in 2022 received USA Lacrosses’s Gerry Carroll Award.

White, an English teacher, is also a bestselling novelist (“The Midcoast”) and an Emmy-nominated documentary producer (“Escape Fire: The Fight to Rescue American Healthcare”).

White takes over the Exeter job from Bill Glennon, who had been with the program for 34 years, including 16 as head coach.

“I couldn’t be more excited to come home to Exeter,” White said in a statement. “This place is very special to me. I love it here. I’m enormously grateful to be able to teach English and coach lacrosse at the school where I was first encouraged to pursue those passions. I can’t wait to get to work.”

Former Boston University offensive coordinator Mike Silipo will take over at St. Sebs.

▪ Providence College freshman Ava Porter, a Somerset resident who graduated from Moses Brown in Rhode Island, was named Big East field hockey Freshman of the Week after backstopping the Friars to a season-opening shootout win over Boston University. Porter made 11 saves in 80 minutes.

▪ WPI sophomore Myles Lakin, a Reading High graduate, was tabbed as the NEWMAC Field Hockey Defensive Athlete of the Week after making a combined 14 saves in wins over Roger Williams and University of New England.

▪ Holy Cross freshman Rachel Egan, a Watertown graduate, was an honorable mention for the Patriot League field hockey players of the week after recording a goal and an assist in a 7-0 win over Merrimack, playing 105 minutes in her first weekend of collegiate competition.

▪ UMass Dartmouth men’s soccer senior Ethan Donahue, a Methuen graduate, was honored as Little East Conference Goalkeeper of the Week by going 2-0 with nine saves while facing 10 shots in wins over Curry and Dean. His UMD teammate, sophomore Daniel Jordan, a Needham High graduate, was named the LEC Offensive Player of the Week thanks to netting his first caree hat trick against Curry College and factoring into all five goals in the game.

Belmont High junior Yasmine Diaz, who also plays for the FC Stars, announced her commitment to play Division 1 women’s soccer at Binghamton.

North Middlesex announced its 2025 Athletic Hall of Fame class, which includes Terrence (Terry) Sullivan (’67), Lisa Girolamo (’98), Ralph Olsen (1981-92), coach Russell Woollacott, coach Richard Movsessian, the 1969 boys’ basketball team, and the 1982 field hockey team.

The ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. Sept. 25 at Northern Spy Golf Club. Tickets are $100.
