The sports-radio competition between 98.5 The Sports Hub and WEEI wasn’t much of a competition at all in the summer Nielsen Audio ratings.

The Sports Hub’s three daytime programs finished first in their respective time periods among the men 25-54 demographic from July 6-September 17, while no WEEI daytime program finished higher than a tie for sixth.

Overall, the Sports Hub was first with an 11.1 share, while WEEI tied for ninth with a 3.4.

In morning drive, The Sports Hub’s Toucher and Hardy had the highest share of any radio show in the Boston market this summer with a 17.9. WEEI’s The Greg Hill Show tied WROR’s Bob and LBF In The Morning for sixth (4.9).

In middays, Zolak and Bertrand took first (12.5), while WEEI’s Jones and Keefe, which had been making headway, tied for seventh (3.5) with Magic 106.7’s programming.

Felger and Massarotti took the top spot in afternoon drive with an 11.1 share. WEEI Afternoons was a distant 15th with a 2.0.

In the spring, Felger and Mazz, a ratings powerhouse in the 2-6 p.m. period for 15 years, had seen ratings fall approximately 30 percent year-over-year (18.4 in spring ’24 to 12.2 in spring ‘25), but remained firmly in the No. 1 spot. Their 11.1 share this summer was down from a 14.8 share last summer.

In the 6-7 p.m. window, the Massarotti-hosted “Baseball Hour” tied WZLX programming in that hour for second with a 7.5. WEEI, which features Red Sox pregame and the Christian Arcand show in that spot, tied WCRB for 17th (1.7).

WEEI, the radio home of the Red Sox during their first playoff season since 2021, got its best numbers in the 7 p.m.-midnight window. Red Sox broadcasts and Arcand’s show brought in a 5.2 share, tying the Sports Hub and Joe Murray’s show for fourth.
