Boston, Mass. – Boston College (4-6) defeated Northeastern (5-5) in a hot 3-2 match on Dedham Field Sunday afternoon.
Mia Garber scored the first goal of the game and her first goal of the season at the 5:06 mark to put the Eagles on top early in the first quarter. BC would hold that lead into the half.
Northeastern scored early out of the half to tie the game up at 1-1. The Eagles responded quickly with two goals of their own to take a 3-1 lead in the same quarter. Klara Mueffelmann started it with her first goal of the season with an assist by Eva Kluskens.Three minutes later Alex De Cain netted her first career goal in the Maroon and Gold off of a penalty corner with help from Martina Giacchino and Madeline Leigh.
The Huskies added one more in the fourth quarter but it would not be enough as the Eagles walk away with a 3-2 win to snap their losing streak.
BC led the game in shots (16-5), shots on goal (10-2) and corners (7-1) while NU led in saves (7-0).

The Eagles make the long trip for a weekend in California as they start on Friday night in Berkeley against the Golden Bears of California at 9 p.m. EST. BC then faces Stanford on Sunday afternoon at 5 p.m. EST.
