On Friday night, senior Cam Gray set a Wilmington school record with three special teams touchdowns, scoring twice on kickoffs and once on a punt return to finish with 240 total return yards in a 29-6 win over Arlington Catholic.

North Reading junior Willow Koepke notched her 500th career assist in a 3-2 win Friday against Lynnfield.

In Saturday’s girls’ soccer action, Oliver Ames stunned No. 6-ranked Norwell, 2-1 behind set-piece goals from Shelby Hodges and Sara Paul. Norwell is No. 1 in the Division 3 MIAA power rankings.

Nick O’Brien, Tri-County — Another week, another star-turning appearance for the junior, who scored six times, giving him 18 touchdowns through four games. He ran for 210 yards and five scores on 18 carries and caught a 66-yard TD pass during a 57-0 demolition of Southeastern, giving him 12 rushing TDs and six receiving on the season.

Xavier Roman and Ta’Qaire Bell, Cathedral — Roman, a senior, threw five touchdown passes, four of which went to Bell, a fellow senior. Roman added a rushing TD and an interception in a 43-14 win over Lynn Classical.

Caden Smith, Central Catholic — The junior quarterback did just enough to secure a 20-19 win over Bishop Hendricken (R.I.), throwing for 130 yards and three touchdowns and adding 142 rushing yards.

Jeff Powers, who revived the girls’ basketball program at Middleborough, becoming the program’s all-time wins leader, is leaving to take over the girls’ program at Plymouth North.

In 2018-19, his first season at Middleborough, Powers led the Sachems to their first tournament win since 1972. He went 83-64 over seven seasons. The Panthers are coming off a 5-15 campaign.

Thank you Middleborough for all of the great memories, sad to say goodbye but incredibly proud of our time together!

With that being said, I am ready to take on the new challenge at Plymouth North! 🙌🏻🦅🏀 https://t.co/NRA0VIGmEp
