Scott Gardner has named his side to face Boston United in this evening’s National League Cup group stage clash.

The Whites go into the encounter as reigning champions of the competitions and call upon Rory Mahady, Rhys Chadwick and Harry Gray following the trio’s pre-season spent with the first team.

New signing Louis Enahoro-Marcus is involved in the heart of defence, behind Alfie Cresswell who skippers the side, sitting in midfield alongside Oliver Pickles.

Regulars from last campaign’s U18s Jacob Render and Devon Brockie support Gray in the forward line.

Club legend Jonny Howson settles for a place on the bench after it was announced he has returned to the Whites in a player-coach role.

The full side reads: Mahady (GK), Firth, Bird, Cresswell (C), Lopata-White, Enahoro-Marcus, Chadwick, Pickles, Gray, Render, Brockie. Subs: Ombang (GK), White, Dudley, Lienou, Pirie, Howson.

Boston: Lovett (GK), Grist, Teale, Sloggett (C), Hill, John-Lewis, Hiwula, Lankshear, Richards, Raikhy, Cropper. Subs: Jones (GK), Mills, Coyle, Donnelly, Norkett, Ging, Bradley.
