LYNN — In the second annual Battle of the Badges charity softball game, Lynn Fire defeated Lynn Police, 20-15, at Fraser Field Sunday afternoon. The event was organized by Derek January, Lucas Harris, and Pat Crowley.

Half of the proceeds are headed to the Greater Lynn Babe Ruth All-Star team, while the other half is headed to 100 Club of Massachusetts, which provides financial assistance to families of police officers and firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty.

“It was an overall good game with great hitting, defense, and pitching,” Crowley said. “Hopefully, we can continue to do it every year and obviously we appreciate the January family and the North Shore Navigators for hosting. It was definitely competitive. Everyone wants to win and it gets competitive, but once the game’s over, it’s over.”
